Mobile phone users activate sim cards` security code: MCI official

Mobile Company of Iran official warned subscribers about sim cards defenselessness and announced that it is better to activate their sim cards security code to prevent any misuse.
“Subscribers should pay attention that they should activate security code, so if their mobile set gets lost it will not be used by another person,” MCI coding office head Ahmad Kazemi said.
“If you enter the wrong PIN code 3 times in a row, your mobile phone asks you for your PUK code. The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code is used to unblock your mobile phone. If you enter the wrong PUK code your SIM card will remain blocked for good. In this case you should contact MCI customer services,” he added.
“Mobile phone users should be informed via media to know how to use properly their sim cards technologies,” Kazemi said.
“Mobile phone subscribers should protect their sim cards in software and hardware aspects,” MCI advanced protection manager Ghaleb Hariri said.
“Subscribers should keep their sim cards out of magnet field and high voltage electricity,” he added.
