Hassan Razavi, in conversation with MOBNA, said the GC’s assignments are almost complete and they have fulfilled 90% of their tasks of sites preparation.
He added that in future his company plans to utilize the technical know-how and experience of general contractors on individual basis and not GCs as a group.
Asked how he assessed the quality of sites already delivered by GCs? he said the standards are different and are dependent on the geographical and climatic conditions of the site in question and the nature of its cooperation with MTC.
This follows the 3rd phase of Mobile Telecommunications Network contract being signed with 3 GCs, namely Behin-Ertebaat-e Mehr, Eriksson Services and Pars-Iratel to launch 4,700 mobile phone BTS site in March 2005, by which they were required to submit the outcome to 1st Operator in May 2006, but two years after the deadline, there is still no news about its completion.
The GCs in question have already delivered 3,930 sites out of 4,700 of which 1,222 have received MTC approval.
