IDRO should participate in Third Operator project

“The documents that limit government participation in the Third Operator tender have to be revised,” he said.
“If there is ambiguity that IDRO cannot invest in Third Operator because it is not an industry then the matter should be referred to the Guardian Council for revision,” Ramezan-Ali Sadeghzadeh told Mobna news agency.
“But high-tech development is not manufacturing and launching Third Operator is among high-tech industries which has been defined in IDRO organization chart,” he said.
According to industries and mines committee spokesman and on the basis of Trades Act, state- and semi state-owned organizations cannot participate in Third Operator project.
Is had been planned that Third Operator would release its sim cards last spring, but following Emirates Etisalat’s dismissal and disagreement with Zain, the fate of project has remained in doubt.
