Commerce Ministry demand for 10-year assurance to provide spare parts illogical

“Such an assurance is illogical because the average lifespan of mobiles is two years,” Pars Comtel managing director Hosein Payandeh told Mobna news agency.
“If the assurance is given by importers, it would not be practical,” he added.
“The demand for such an assurance is not logical at all,” managing director Arkan Ertebatat, authorized distributor of Nokia mobile, believes.
“Regarding mobile set lifespan and its replacement with new models by owners, such assurance would not be practical even if legal companies agreed to it,” Mahmoud Behjat Ardakani added.
“Some products such as automobile have 10-year spare parts assurance but not mobile sets which have short lifespan,” he said.
