First mobile operator impedes other operators` offering services: academic

First nationwide mobile operator is Mobile Company of Iran.
“Second mobile operator Irancell when started its operation offered value added services like mms (multi media messaging) to its subscribers, and by doing so it obtained a portion in countrys sim cards market,” a local university science board member Bijan Safavi told Mobna news agency.
“Therefore the state owned first operator sim cards sales decreased,” he added.
“Competing between mobile phone operators should be fair, but MCI misuse its state owned position,” Safavi said.
“Irans mobile market will be a competitive one if the tariffs are not based on (officials) taste,” he added.
