Mobile phone penetration rate reaches 63%

“During this period, mobile phone penetration rate reached 63% and landline phones were sold on demand,” Abd-Khezr Kamrani said at farewell ceremony on Sep 6 of former ICT Minister and the new ICT Minister introduction.
“Internet users’ penetration rate reached 34.9% from 12.9%,” he added.
“Banks connection to the internet was among other achievements of the 9th government in the ICT field, along with increasing roaming link with 109 countries, increasing GPRS and MMS service subscribers,” he continued.
“TCI privatization, compilation of Post Office, Aerospace Agency and ICT research center new charts were among other activities of ICT ministry,” he said.
