Landline phone sale on demand not yet possible

ICT minister, Mohammad Soleymani, had said last Iranian year (ended March 2009) that landline phone would be sold on demand countrywide, but the minister’s first term has ended and the promise has not yet materialized.
Installing landline phone takes one week from date of application in Tehran and three weeks in Karaj.
Currently there are more than 24 million installed landline phones in Iran with 35 percent penetration rate.
