Country’s internet penetration rate less than 0.5%

“Nowadays, internet penetration rate in the developed countries is measured in terms of high-speed internet ports in the country,” Mohammad Taha Khosravi told Mobna news agency.
“We have at present around 380,000 such ports in the country and according to which the country’s internet penetration rate works out less than 0.5%,” he added.
“There are over 1.6 billion internet users in the world and 600 million of them use high-speed internet, indicating that 7.3% of world internet users have access to high-speed internet,” he said.
According to the figures issued by Iranian Information Technology Company, there are over 35 million internet users in the country of whom 400,000 use high-speed internet (ADSL), while, according to IBM research institute, Denmark stands at top of the list of world high-speed internet users.
