Alternative routes established to support international fiber optic link

“When the sea is stormy some ships are forced to drop anchor, which may cut the undersea fiber optic cable, making it necessary to think of alternative routes,” Gholamreza Keshtgar told Mobna news agency.
“The alternative routes have also helped ease the communication flow,” he added.
He said the matter was not confined to Iran as most countries with seashore were exposed to such incidents.
Iran’s present alternative routes are: Jask-Fojeireh, Iran-Kuwait and Iran-Turkey.
