Government to review increase in telecommunication tariffs

“ICT ministry has made a proposal for an increase in landline call tariff and it is on Government’s agenda,” Davood Zareian told Mobna news agency.
“The increase is currently being reviewed by different government committees,” he said.
Earlier, the head of Parliament telecommunication committee had announced that he did not agree with the increase and it was not necessary.
However, no telecommunication rate has been changed for the past six years.
On the basis of the Third Economic Development Plan and Parliament approval, call tariff has to be increased by 10% every year.
