ITMC handsets absent from market

In less than two years since Iran Telecommunication Manufacturing Co launched its mobile set assembly line, the product, dubbed as “domestic” has all but disappeared from the market.
It proved no match to established brands such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung which have been around for much longer.
Market analysts believe the set has not been properly presented to the public, while asserting that with the price almost the same as foreign brands, customers naturally opt for established ones.
ITMC was one of the companies which planned to establish mobile set assembly line when its import tariff was raised from 4 to 60 per cent.
