Ericsson to manage MTN – Irancell network

“The reason for this switch was due to problems with Irancell –MTN and Nokia over handling of logistics and control,” an informed source in the company told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
He said that final plans to install Ericsson server in Irancell network is being implemented.
Irancell network BSS (Broadband Switching System) equipments for Ardebil, west and East Azerbaijan, Gilan, Qazvin, Hamedan, Ilam, Kermanshah, Kordistan, Loristan, Qom and Zanjan provinces have been installed by Iran telecommucnaition industries and Huawei consortium.
And Irancell BSS equipments in North Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan and Semnan provinces have been installed by consortium Fars, Takfam and Nokia.
Satef and Ericsson equipments and Kamkar System, Elmatco and Alcatel companies equipments have been installed in some provinces, which whole network management has been up to Nokia Company.
Foreign – Iranian operator MTN – Irancell as Iran second operator so far has sold about 14 million sim cards out of which 90 percent are prepaid sim cards.
