International roaming available to Iranian Hajj pilgrims

“International roaming between Iran and Iranian Hajj pilgrims in Mecca is in place and there is no problem in that respect,” Communications Infrastructure’s maintenance and management deputy told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
He said an alternative route was established via Turkey-Germany as soon as the cut in Jask-Fojeireh link was reported.
He said alternative routes are usually foreseen for fiber-optic links, and indicated that the sea cable in question will be repaired in the next two days.
The cable which sustains 60 percent of country’s telecommunication links was damaged last Thursday when it was hit by an anchor of a ship.
