MCI will install solar BTS antennas in roads: official

“Currently we are testing these solar BTS antennas to install them in the countrys roads,” MCI engineering and plan deputy Hasan Razavi told Iran mobile news agency (Mobna).
“Also MCI has negotiated with Shahid Ghandi Communication Cable Company and has reached a certain degree of understanding in order to supply more solar antennas,” he added.
“Since there is enough electricity power in Tehran, solar BTS antennas will be installed in roads where supplying them with electricity power is expensive,” he said.
Solar sites in comparison with normal sites are more expensive.
So far MCI has installed 16,000 BTS antennas nationwide out of which 4,700 BTS were launched by General Contractors in line with MCI 3rd development phase.
