A reduction in mobile import tariff requires commerce ministry’s approval

“Only with the commerce ministry’s approval could the tariff be cut, since the ministry has a key role in the matter,” Mohammad Faghihi told Mobna news agency.
“It is only because of the ministry’s sluggishness that the tariff has remained unchanged, but the attitude has to be changed,” he added.
He believed the commerce ministry should not follow ministry of Industries and Mines policy in that regard since it would undermine consumers’ rights.
He said mobile phone users have a limited choice of handsets, and that is the direct result of commerce ministry’s apathy.
