۱۰ percent import tariff of mobile sets not implemented to help domestic manufacturing

“Only 10 percent import tariff of mobile sets can help vanish mobile sets smuggling,” Majlis communication committee head Ali Motahari told Mobna news agency.
Economy ministrys Article one commission determines tariffs for commodities. 
“Mobile sets smuggling decreased, when 60 percent tariff of mobile sets import decreased to 25 percent. But now that 25 percent tariff has remained stable smuggling has increased,” he said.
“Consumers sought smuggling sets because of their dramatic price difference with mobile sets with warranty. So smugglers have motive to continue their work,” he added. 
“۱۰ percent import tariff of mobile sets can help authorized importers to import different brands with more affordable prices to confront with smugglers,” Motahari said.
“From authorized importers point of view 25 percent tariff is not logical and proper, so they can not expand their activity and smuggling will continue,” he added.
