Q-TEL, which is already engaged in Iraq, Indonesia and Algeria, has not yet found a partner for its Iranian activity.
United Arab Republics’ Ettesalat is another company willing to participate in the tender.
The winner of the tender is due to be announced by the end of the current Iranian year (Mar 20, 2008).
The operator’s license will be valid for 15 years extendable to two further five-year terms.
It may have up to 17 million subscribers.
The tender winner, if among world major operators, will substantially boost Iranian mobile phone services.
