Domestic manufacturers’ negotiation with famous brand manufacturers

“So far some world famous producers have shown tendency in manufacturing mobile sets in Iran as joint-venture and under license,” Ministry of Industries and Mines’ director of electrical and electronic industries Mahmoud Liaii told Mobna news agency.
He said that such a move could boost employment.
“With stable tariffs domestic and foreign investors will be more encouraged to invest in industry,” he added.
He said that for the time being mobile set import tariff stands at four percent for the parts, 10 percent SKD and 25 percent CBU and will remain until the end of the current Iranian year (Mar 21, 2009).
The volume of investment has so far been 140 billion rials (14 million dollars) with working capital as 100 billion rials (10 million dollars).
