Authorized mobile imports declined in two years

Increasing mobile sets import tariff has not any economic and technical reason. 
Although mobile sets import tariff has increased and mobile phone technology has improved, but its price has declined in the market.
Most importers believe that abundance of smuggled mobile sets is the reason for declined prices.  
۱۳ million mobile sets have been imported in previous Iranian year (March 2007-March 2008) worth about 18 million dollars.
It is expected that more than 16 million mobile sets will be imported up to end of this Iranian year (March 2009).
Car production with more than 45 year-old history is worth 90 trillion rails (9 billion dollars) annually, but 16 million imported mobile sets in one year with average price of 1.4 million rails (148 dollars) per set, it is valued at 224 trillion rails (23.8 billion dollars) annually.
