Third mobile phone operator tender winner to be determined in October: official

“Studying proposals of third mobile phone operator tender foreign applicants will be done in two separate stages,” Kamal Mahamedpour added.
“Technical and quality evaluations are the first stage. In second stage their financial and non technical abilities will be studied,” he added.
“Third mobile phone operator documents are being studied and will be sold in the coming days, the winner will be determined in a month,” he said.
“It is because of second operators preservation period” that third mobile phone operator winner will be determined up to 21 October,” Mahamedpour explained.
He did not explain “preservation period.”
“The United Arab Emirates firm “Millennium Finance Corporation,” has been selected among the four top companies as consultant to the project manager of Iran’s third nationwide mobile phone operator,” he said.
“Currently Iran telecommunications is being privatized stage and five percent of its shares have been sold off in the bourse. So companies that are in transferring stage from state owned to the private sector are being controlled in accordance with business law,” he added.
