Mobile sets import tariff must be 10 to 15 percent: expert

“Always there is opposing views between commerce and industry ministries about setting industrial commodities tariffs,” a Tehran university professor Mohammadgholi Yousefi told Mobna news agency.
“Meanwhile commerce ministrys Article One commission whose job is setting tariffs, does not reach a conclusion among its members on setting tariffs,” he added.
“Article one commission can set tariffs for commodities which are not later faced with any challenges, but for mobile phone sets import tariffs and due to its sensitivity, it seems that the matter would be settled in the government cabinet,” he said.
“We are waiting to see if industry minister agrees to reduce mobile sets import tariff or if he once again hides behind the alibi of protecting domestic production in order not to decrease tariff,” he said.
