Around 80 percent mobile set users not concerned to buy smuggled or legal sets

“The hike in the smuggled and  warranty-less mobile sets in the market and the price difference between legal and smuggled sets are among the reasons which has ead to consumers seeking mobile sets without warranties,” Nima Arash told Mobna news agency.
“Therefore and since mobile sets import tariff is 25 percent, most of the mobile phones are smuggled ones,” he added.
“Authorized mobile sets companies have reduced their work and they are in a situation that makes it hard for them to compete with smugglers,” he said.
“There are some counterfeit mobile warranty cards in the market, so the consumers should pay attention to the authenticity of warranty cards,” he advised.
Mobile phone market has been faced with an increase in smuggled sets since mobile set import tariff increased from four percent to 60 percent as of May-June 2006.
