Mobile set import tariff is set to protect domestic manufacturers and consumers alike: minister

“Companies which have made investment for the manufacture mobile sets in the country should use latest technologies if they intend to compete with major world manufacturers,” Masoud Mir-Kazemi told Mobna news agency in a press conference.
“A mobile’s life is very short and manufacturers should keep pace with world developments if they wish to survive in this arena,” he said.
He indicated that the 10 percent import tariff is currently being reviewed by the ministries involved, but no decisions have yet been made in that respect.
