“We are in negotiation with them and have obtained some preliminary information,”
TCIs CEO Vafa Ghaffarian said.
He made the comments in response to some foreign companies’ tendency to buy TCI stocks.
“We intend to sell 51 percent of TCIs stocks to become a private company after offering 5 percent of them for price determination,” he added referring to the sale of TCI on the Tehran Stock Exchange.
“Those 5 percent stocks will probably go on sale next week,” Ghaffarian added.
Four days ago, a telecommunication official said that if the process of privatizing Iran Telecommunication Company goes without problem, 80 percent of its stock will be sold by end of Iranian year (20 March 2009).
