“These allegations are made by Emad Semiconductors chief because they have failed to acquire a share of the market,” the managing director of Comtel, Sony Ericsson’s authorized agent in Iran Hussein Payandeh told Mobna news agency.
“Such allegations are not true since mobile set importers lost 10 billion rials (more than one million dollars) through an increase in import tariff which they wouldn’t if they were smugglers,” he said.
“The Iranian mobile market needs 10 million handsets annually, yet Emad Semiconductors has only managed to produce 65,000 sets” the sales director of Pars MicroTel Ali Reza Javadi, Samsung’s authorized agent in Iran said.
Such remarks are usually made by those who have not been successful in their business,” Fitco’s sales manager Mohsen Mehr-Pazhohan, for his part, said.
Emad Semiconductor Company was one of the companies which Iranian industry ministry inked a contract to manufacture home made mobile sets.
This company is currently assembling Hyundai mobile sets.
