Legal importers of mobile sets are bigger smuggler: industrialist

“Authorized importer of mobile sets are smuggling their sets through illegal channels,” Managing director of Emad semiconductor company, Hamidreza Monji told Mobna news agency.
“Because of the 25 percent tariff on the imported mobile sets most authorized dealers tend to import their sets through illegal channels,” he added.
“Emad Semiconductor Company since its operation has cleared 65,000 mobile sets from custom. The company will manufacture 150,000 mobile sets by end of this Iranian year (20 March 2009),” he said.
Emad Semiconductor Company was one of the companies which Iranian industry ministry inked a contract to manufacture home made mobile sets.
This company is currently assembling Hyundai mobile sets.
Semiconductors are tremendously important in electronic technology. Semiconductor devices, electronic components made of semiconductor materials, are essential in modern consumer electronics, including computers, mobile phones and digital audio players.
