Unwanted SMS; citizens’ rights infringement

 nuisance caused by an unwanted SMS is a violation of citizen’s rights since mobile phone is a cyberspace and within it users are entitled to their own rights.
He stressed that, as yet, no regulations on the matter have been ratified and so it is virtually impossible to confront the offenders.
He stressed also that those private companies who send SMS messages as promotional practice should seek permission from mobile phone owners since that too could be construed as infringement.
He suggested that both government and Telecom should strive to defend citizens’ rights by preventing such offences taking place.
