Mobile handset 10% import tariff; rejected or shelved!?

A member of the consortium of mobile handset manufacturers told MOBNA that no decision on endorsement of the 10% tariff has so far been conveyed and importers carry on business as before on the basis of the old 25% tariff.
Mohammad Marzban-Rad indicated that Article-1 Committee has been unable to force Ministry of Industries & Mines into lowering the 25% tariff to 10%.
He expected, however, that the 10% tariff will be eventually enforced.
According to MOBNA, sources in mobile handset market believe, following the chaos caused by an immature decision on the tariff which caused much problem for importers and vendors alike, the proposed tariff will be suspended for a while.
Others believe, however, that the 10% tariff will be suspended while the impeachment of the Trades Minister is in progress.
