RCRO’s new Persian & Latin SMS tariffs

that Payamac tariff was high and should be lowered, the deputy-minister of Information & Communication Technology has declared that the issue is not related to mobile phone services and indeed RCRO themselves have had their hands in the new tariffs.
Vafa Ghaffarian, stressing that lowering Persian SMS tariff has been to popularize the service, indicated that lowering it from 140 Rial to 90 Rial while raising Latin SMS tariff from 140 Rial to 220 Rial has been to support the former at the expense of the latter.
He said the bodies that make decisions in the issue are RCRO, the Economics Council and Parliament, but what item 3 of Fourth Development Plan indicates concerns the fundamental services whereas the issue relates to value-added services, which is the concern of RCRO’s.
