Ministry of Information & Communication Technology PR department quotes Communications Infrastructure chief Mohammad Bagher Zohourifar as saying that Core and Super Core are among projects which will commence this year, and hoped their schedules will be finalized this summer.
He indicated that the projects were planned to proceed independently, but since they are complementary by nature and should be operational concurrently their tenders were held at the same time.
Another project, which he hoped will be put to tender and set on its way this spring, is construction of a national data center whose RFP (Request for proposal) is being prepared by Iran Telecom Research Center, the project’s consulting agent.
He stressed, however, that the center is for use by government organizations hosting their websites and archiving national data.
He added the Economic Council has already authorized 300b Rial fund towards the initial establishment of the center.
Communications Infrastructure chief said that establishment of a signaling system for the country’s integrated network is another important project whose tender has been held and is now in its operational phase.
