More low-price mobiles on the way to counter smuggling

”Regarding current mobile market situation, which is inundated by smuggled sets, authorized companies can only compete by offering low-price mobiles,” managing director of Arkan Ertebatat, authorized distributor of Nokia mobile sets, told Mobna news agency.
”The current increase in mobile smuggling and their low price, in comparison with fully warranteed mobile sets, has led customers to choose the former,” Mahmoud Behjat Ardakani added.
”The 25 percent import tariff on mobile sets and lack of control on vendors who deal with smuggled sets has led to over 95 percent of the mobile market being controlled by unauthorized vendors,” he said.
