Speaking to Mobna news agency today Tuesday, Ali-Asghar Yousef-Nejad, spokesman for Parliament industries and mines committee, quoted Minister of Information and Telecommunication Technology, Mohammad Soleimani, as saying in his address to Parliament on ICT matters, of consortium’s removal from Iran’s Third Operator project.
Soleimani has said that his ministry was preparing a report on the issue to be presented to the Cabinet.
Meanwhile, the Parliament committee is forming a workgroup to make decision on the whole issue of Third Operator.
ICT ministry has announced that it would welcome any domestic company wishing to participate in the project.
On Jan 21, 2009, Tamin-Etisalat consortium was declared winner of Third Operator tender but was later dismissed from the project for failing to fulfill its obligations.
