Emad Semiconductors to manufacture 150,000 mobiles this year

“We have, as last year, earmarked the assembly of 150,000 mobiles, which will be compatible with existing foreign brands on the market,” Hamid-Reza Monji told Mobna news agency.
He indicated that the current import tariff on mobile components was suitable but added that the widespread smuggling of mobile sets had left little room for domestic-manufactured sets to maneuver, and most buyers usually opted for famous smuggled brands.
Emad Semiconductors is one of companies in contract with the Ministry of Industries and Mines to produce 1m mobile sets annually.
