“The project is a launching pad for an electronic government and the card is to be used for health, voting, identification and targeted subsidies purposes,” Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said at a gathering of provincial IT directors.
He said his ministry would perform its duties of informing the public and giving fast and low-cost services in political and social affairs in electronic government.
“To reach the goals of the Fourth and Fifth Economic Development Plans the process of achieving electronic government has to be speeded up,” he added.
