“The market is stagnant mainly as a result of present economic situation,” Pedram Elikaee told Mobna news agency.
“The outlook is also grim since the sales have been drastically reduced and there is little hope for recovery in foreseeable future,” he added.
He said the present 25% import tariff on mobile set has caused 90% of the market falling into the hands of smugglers and most authorized importers only release a limited quantity on the market.
“It is unfortunate that there is no serious crackdown on smuggling by Government agencies and we witness annual loss of country’s currency resources,” he said.
