IranCell-MTN permitted to sell 40 million mobile numbers: managing director

“In the initial economic plan, the sale of 16 million sim cards over 15 years by the operator had been anticipated but in its license there is no limitation,” Ali-Reza Ghalambar Dezfooli told Mobna news agency.
The Information and Communication Technology Ministry has requested Radio Communication and Regulations Organization to announce the true no of IranCell subscribers.
“We are doing preliminary works to assign some part of IranCell shares in bourse,” he added.
“We cannot offer the promised 21% in whole but the process has to be done in various stages,” he said.
The operator has covered 1,300 cities in the past 4 years and, based on unofficial figures, has released 20 million sim cards.
