Post Office privatization awaits Government approval

“Post Office will be divided into two sectors of administrative and operative. After legal procedure, the operative sector will be sold to the private sector,” Mohammad-Hasan Araghi told Mobna news agency.
“At present, we are awaiting Government and Parliament approval for assignment of Post Office to the private sector and no problem is expected in that regard,” he said.
He had announced earlier that according to predictions about 30% of Post Office shares would be assigned to foreign investors for which a public invitation has been announced.
On the basis of the new privatization law, Post Office shares should be privatized through bourse by the end of current Iranian year (March 2010).
