“GIO has submitted a report to the Competition Council which has not yet been reviewed officially. The council will announce its final evaluation after the revision,” Jamshid Pajuyan told Mobna news agency.
“If the process was found to lack proper clarity and was unfair, the council will interfere in revoking the transaction,” he said.
“If TCI or any other agency tries to monopolize the market after obtaining majority shares and create a non-competitive atmosphere in the market, the council will step in,” he added.
“The council has not yet held official session to review the TCI block share trade,” he said.
In a report, the General Inspection Organization has requested the Competition Council to revoke TCI block share trade if it is proved that the process was unfair.
On the basis of the new privatization law, 50% plus one shares of TCI were sold to Tose’eh Etemad Mobin Consortium on Sep 27 by tender.
