Iran-Iraq fiber optic network connection within next few days

“On the basis of this scheme, Iran and Iraq domestic fiber optic networks will be connected and communication transit between the two countries will be done without transit through other countries,” Behrouz Asrari Ershad told Mobna news agency.
“The network is in its final test stage and its official launch will be announced soon,” he said.
Iran-Iraq fiber optic connection will be possible via Ghasr Shirin, Kurdistan, Khuzestan and Ilam cities.   
Iran’s optical network is already connected to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Turkey, Afghanistan, Emirates and Kuwait internal networks.
