National internet network goes countrywide: ICT minister deputy

“In the government applications sector, launch of national datacenter is carried out by Communication Infrastructure while making other public datacenters is done by the private sector,” Abdol-Majid Riazi told Mobna news agency.
“The use of IPs is among the project obstacles which require engineering work,” he said.
“In order to implement the project, the two provinces of Qom and Kerman have been selected aiming to create a suitable pattern for a national internet network,” he added.
“Most electronic services need stable and secure networks and in order to implement national internet network, some works have been done in that regard,” he said.
“National internet network is being implemented to develop Iran information infrastructure and various services are defined on that basis,” telecommunication authorities said.
Among the project goals are increasing IP national network capabilities and tendency towards new generation networks, offering services to private PAP companies, creating VPN (virtual private networks) for organizations and companies nationwide and creating high-capacity infrastructures for regional and international transits.
