Only 2% mobile market belongs to authorized vendors

“The high import tariff on mobile set and lack of serious confrontation with illegal vendors has resulted in only 2 percent of the market being taken up by authorized importers,” Saeed Eskandari told Mobna news agency.
He warned that if the present tariff was not reduced from 25% to 10% and a new center was not created by Government for R&D in domestic mobile set production, the market would remain as chaotic as it was.
“There should be a law in future so that the tariff is not reduced so suddenly and without Parliament’s consent, only to find out four years later that it had resulted in bankruptcies of some companies and redundancy of a great number of personnel,” he said.
