Fourth operator operation to be studied: telecommunication minister deputy

“After third operator start its operation studies for fourth mobile phone operator operation will start,” Kamal Mahamedpour told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
“It is predicted that Iran mobile phone market in addition to first, second and third operators needs another operator. Regarding Iran telecommunication need, fourth operator license will be issued in future,” he added. 
Telecommunication minister Mohammad Soleimani had earlier said that there is the possibility of employing another mobile phone operator in Iran in the future due to young Iranian population of Iran and mobile phone use need.
He hoped for mobile phone penetration rate to reach more than 100 percent.
Currently telecommucnaition ministry is issuing operation license to Tamin Etisalat Consortium which has been selected as final winner of third operator tender.
Iran mobile phone penetration rate is 55 percent and third operator should attract 17 million subscribers during 15 years.
