Mobile terms equivalents in Persian

“Two groups of ‘communication’ and ‘information technology’ at the Academy are separately engaged in finding Persian equivalents for such terms,” Hamid Hassani told Mobna news agency.
Terms such as “GPRS”, “MMS” and “Handsfree” are among those for which the Academy seeks equivalents.
The terms “Sms”, “Bluetooth”, “Infrared”, “GSM”, “MMS” and “Mobile” were the first to enter the language, of which “Sms” is now the most prevalent.
Some believe, however, that like “Post”, “Telephone”, “Bank” and “Television” such terms can stand on their own without a need for Persian equivalents.
