Mobile phone increase traffic in highways: traffic expert

“One reasons of traffic jam in Tehran highways is the use of mobile phone while driving,” Colonel Soltanian said.
“Mobile phone use while driving increase car accidents and ranks among the top of vehicle accidents reasons,” he added.
“Drivers using mobile phones can not recognize their distance with other cars, he said.
He added that violators of no-talking-while-driving will be fined 70,000 rials,” he said.
Using mobile phone while driving leads to fatal accidents annually.
Since governments have banned mobile phone use for drivers, hands free use welcomed among drivers in those countries.
But researches say that lack of attention to driving while dialing or speaking on phones is more dangerous than using a hand to keep mobile phone.
