Last week’s sim card market

The sim card, thanks to IranCell subscribers going for the card, was sold at 180,000 rials, 60,000 rials higher than its official price.
The operator’s postpaid dim card, however, suffered repeated price cuts in that period.
Market analysts believe the operator’s prepaid sim card price has been kept artificially high so as to prevent MCI postpaid sim card price plunging any deeper.
It has been said that IranCell, on its part, has tried to sell its own sim card with incentives such as gifts and credits.
MCI prepaid sim card price, however, is expected to fall to its official value in coming weeks.
