New sms tariff not applied by MCI prepaid sim cards

The change was to be carried out as of June 15, and the charge was 222 rials (less than two cents) for non-Persian and 89 rials (fraction of a cent) for Persian sms messages.
The operator’s prepaid sim card sms tariff is still 160 rials and so far there has been no comment on the issue by the operator.
Second operator (IranCell) too has made no change in its sms tariffs.
It is hoped that MCI will refund its subscribers the overcharge once the technical limitation to implement government tariffs is lifted.
In a bid to advance the Persian literature, government lowered Persian sms tariff to 89 rials but raised non-Persian sms tariff to 222 rials, applicable from June 15.
MCI has 27 million subscribers who on average transmit 40 million sms messages daily.
