“Now it is time to change mobile sets import tariff in the country. Earlier authorities believed that mobile sets import tariff should increase in order to protect domestic production, but now that this thought has been defeated therefore mobile phone import tariff should decrease,” Bijan Safavi told Mobna news agency.
“Mobile sets smuggling can decrease just by enforcing 10 percent tariff, otherwise by maintaining the current 25 percent import tariff smugglers will continue their work,” he added.
Delay in setting mobile sets import tariff has lead to confusion in mobile phone market, so the authorities should do something to improve this situation,” he said.
Some sources say that mobile sets import tariff has been set at 10 percent and will be enforced soon by the government.
