Constant change in mobile set import tariff a frustration: economic expert

“Determining the value of mobile import tariff set requires intensive expert work since it will affect both the market and the consumer,” Cirous Mohammadi-Nezhad told Mobna news agency.
He added that high import tariff has boosted smuggling and experts unanimously believe it should be cut but the fact that the proposal has so far been unheeded by the authorities raises questions.
“The General Inspection Organization should review the whole process of mobile set import tariff determination for transparency,” he advised.
“Iran is not an advanced nation in mobile set manufacturing since it has no proper means and such tasks normally require qualified technologies,” “There has been all round support for mobile set production in Iran and we should wait and see if it is capable of such a task,” he added.
