Third nationwide operator’s tender documents to be published in September

“Third nationwide mobile phone operator documents will be issued at the beginning of Government Week and applicants will have two weeks to purchase them,” the telecommunications ministry’s deputy Kamal Mohamedpour told Mobna news agency
“After reviewing the offers the winner of the tender will be announced by 21 October,” he continued.
He said the tender’s foreign consultant has been selected and is awaiting formal agreement.
“The operator’s license is of 15 years’ duration extendable for another five years,” he elaborated.
He said that the country’s current operators cannot become shareholders to the new operator.
According to unofficial figures some 15 operators from around the world including China, Russia, UK, UAE and Canada have declared their inclination to take part in the tender.
