Smuggled mobile sets sold by changing their serial numbers: economic expert

“The sale of smuggling mobile sets in Iran has increased and the illegal importers easily activate them by changing their serial numbers,” an economic expert Asadollah Sajadian told Mobna news agency.
“The enforcement agencies can prevent a percentage of smuggling mobile sets by increasing their control procedure,” he said.
“Reducing mobile sets tariff from 24 percent to 4 percent can act as prevention measures to smuggling, since with low import tariff smugglers can not make any profit,” Sajadian added.
